Emma MD Craft Emma Monique Decara Craft of Kearneysville, WV died September 25, 2022 at Willow Tree Healthcare Center in Charles Town, WV where she was receiving vocational, physical and speech rehabilitation services.

She was born in Bordighera, Italy on January 25, 1935. Her family emigrated to France during World War II and she spent her formative years there. She was predeceased by her parents, elders Eugenia Crestani and Francois Decara of Algrange, France.

She married David W. Craft, her husband of 60 years who predeceased her. As the wife of a career military officer stationed in the United States and Europe, she devoted her energies to being a homemaker and mother.

We are saddened by his death but grateful for his life. She was a talented singer and a lover of languages. She enjoyed good coffee with cream, hearty slices of warm bread, rich chocolate, fresh cut flowers and watched the wildlife visit her yard.

Besides her parents and spouse, she was predeceased by sisters Erminie Jacquin of Rosny-sous-Bois, France; Elda Lantoine of Chalon-sur-Marne, France; Josephine Schroeder of Seremange, France; Quiet Beltrame from Faulquemont, France; Sylvia Millhorn of San Antonio, Texas; and her daughter-in-law Barbara Craft of Charles Town, WV.

She is survived by her sister, Antoinette Jakoucheff of Seremange, France; brother, Joseph Crestani of Seremange, France; daughter, Patricia Craft and husband James Gallant of Massanutten, VA; son, Jerry Craft of Charles Town WV; son, Alan Craft of Sitka, AK; son, Lawrence Craft and wife Lisa of Kearneysville, WV; his grandchildren, Lance Craft, David Craft and Lucie Craft; step-grandchildren, Jessica Robey and Joshua Robey; and 4 great-grandchildren.

We would like to sincerely thank Adrianne Hughes, who was a dedicated and caring caregiver.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Melvin T Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 S Fairfax Blvd, Ranson.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 111 S. Seminary St. in Charles Town with Pastor James Riley officiating and immediately followed by interment at Edge Hill Cemetery.
