Evelyn M. Fansler | Obituary


Evelyn M. Fansler Evelyn Madeline Fansler, 96, of Inwood, WV passed away peacefully Monday, June 20 at the home of her daughter Karen Fansler, with whom she was residing in the care of Hospice of The Panhandle.

Evelyn was born December 3, 1925 in Hampshire County, WV, and was the daughter of the late Floyd and Della Foltz. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a member of Darkesville United Methodist Church in Inwood. She enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble, Pollyanna, putting together puzzles and was an exceptional cook and baker. Evelyn was a Berkeley County election worker, homemaker, and seasonal worker at the Musselman factory.

Evelyn is survived by her four children: Cheryl A. May, Sylvia J. Himmelright, Brian L. Fansler and Karen S. Fansler; grandchildren: Stephanie Burkett and Lori Himmelright; four great-grandchildren: Mason Burkett, Morgan Burkett, Aaliyah Himmelright and Madeline Dowis; and a sister, Norma Shade.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Donald Lee Fansler, her infant son Donald Lee Fansler Jr., her grandson Matthew Paul Himmelright, six sisters: Pearl Foltz, Annis Gerhardt, Geraldine Rice , Nina Morningstar, Blanche Shriver, Goldie Leonard and Thelma Stewart; four brothers: Earl Foltz, Herman Foltz, Eston Foltz and Willis Foltz.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22 at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, June 23 at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg, followed by interment at Rosedale Cemetery with the Reverend Stephon Knox officiating. The bearers will be: Brian Fansler, Perry Hollis, Wayne May, Ronnie Woollum, Mason Burkett and Marty Wright.

After services, lunch will be held at Darkesville United Methodist Church, 6705 Winchester Avenue, Inwood, WV 25428.
