SCH expands free community testing for COVID-19

MARTINSBURG – Shenandoah Community Health is expanding its free COVID-19 community testing hours. PCR testing is now available through the drive-thru testing tent at 99 Tavern Rd., Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. without an appointment or order.

This service is available to SCH patients and non-patients, and results are received directly from the laboratory, usually within 24-48 hours.

National Diabetes Prevention Program Free Bundle

WINCHESTER, Va. – Valley Health is offering New National Diabetes Prevention Program Sessions, a free 12-month course designed to help adults at risk of developing diabetes and ready to make lasting lifestyle changes. One group will meet virtually on Monday from noon to 1 p.m., while the other will meet in person at Warren Memorial Hospital on Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

To be eligible for the National Diabetes Prevention Program, individuals must be overweight, not diagnosed with diabetes, and have one or more of the following: high blood sugar, high blood pressure, family history of diabetes, physically inactive and gestational history Diabetes.

Tai Chi begins at Berkeley Senior Services

MARTINSBURG — Tai Chi will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at Berkeley Senior Services on the High Street. Casual dress and masks suggested.

Good Samaritan Free Clinic Schedule

MARTINSBURG — The Good Samaritan provides free health care to uninsured and underinsured people. The main clinic is located at 601 S. Raleigh St., Martinsburg. They do not book appointments and provide family medicine care in all clinics except Women’s Health Night.

Clinic hours are:

• Wednesdays at 5 p.m.

• First Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m.

• Women’s Health Clinic on the third Tuesday at 5 p.m.

• Rescue mission every Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
