Savana Graham, pictured right, front, a student-athlete with the Eastern Panhandle Velociraptors youth composite mountain bike team is presented with a Trek bike by West Virginia Interscholastic Cycling League (WVICL) sponsor Steadfast Fenders . Graham, who was joined by family members, coaches and teammates, was named by Velociraptor assistant coach Kerri Godfrey. Graham was awarded the Trek Marlin because of his commitment and dedication to the sport of mountain biking through his participation in the Velociraptors EPMTB and the WVICL race series. Graham is so excited to bring this bike to the dirt trails of West Virginia during the 2022 WVICL season in the eighth grade girls division. The Eastern Panhandle Velociraptors are based in Martinsburg. The multi-county team is made up of public and home-schooled student-athletes in grades six through 12 from West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. The Velociraptor team is for those who want to ride for adventure as well as those who want to be competitive and race. Weekend race events take place at local and state parks in West Virginia where the 16 WVICL teams build esprit de corps through mountain biking activities and camping.
