The sharks smell of blood and surround the Biden administration. Grandpa Joe seems unable to run for a second term and his vice president has stumbled in the dark.
Can you believe Hillary is coming out of her rabbit hole? And Donald shaking his cage? They appear to be the leading candidates to run for the White House in 2 and a half years. Really? Is this all we can muster to pull our nation out of this Biden-inflicted socialist shipwreck?
Shakespeare in “The Tempest” said “the past is prologue”, so let’s see what past elections tell us.
If Hillary and Trump are the nominees, they will be the 7th pair to run against each other again. The earliest were George Washington and John Adams (GW won both), and the latest were Eisenhower and Stevenson in 1956 (Ike won both). So it looks like Trump would likely win the rematch.
There have been 12 single-term presidents, but only four since World War II (Ford, Carter, Bush 41 and Trump). Biden is on track to be the 13th.
Eight presidents have died in office, 4 of natural causes, most recently FDR. Four others have been murdered, most recently JFK. In 2024, Hillary and Trump will be 77 years old. And Biden will be 81! For perspective, Ronald Reagan, the oldest president at the time, was 69 when he was first elected. This nation needs a younger, forward-looking, charismatic leader who will break the clutches of socialism and bring us back from the point of no return.
None other than Abe Lincoln said, “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we lose our freedoms, it will be because we have destroyed ourselves from within.
It looks like the Biden-Harris team is being dragged ever deeper into the socialist web by Dem’s radical left leadership, making them very dubious standard bearers in 2024.
Ronald Reagan said, “Socialism only works in two places, heaven where they don’t need it and hell where they already have it!”
But the chances of Hillary winning the presidency, let alone the Democratic nomination, are slim at best, given her age, socialist leanings, questionable ethics and bad temper. Asset? Well, I have yet to meet or hear of a conservative who didn’t like Trump’s politics, it was Trump they didn’t like. I doubt he can overcome this.
So it seems the best way forward for both parties and the nation is to find some new blood. The Democratic bench is thin, personified by Harris receiving the vice-presidential nomination against a group of lefties who couldn’t read a balance sheet.
The Republican bench is trying to figure out how to run against Trump, without alienating Trump’s base. Someone needs to come forward, support Trump’s policies with a kinder, gentler face. It looks like Virginia’s Glenn Younkin has shown the GOP the winning game plan…be Parents’ Day!
Sadly, the Camelot era of “Don’t ask what your country will do for you, ask what you can do for your country” is behind us. With Putin’s aggression in Ukraine (and beyond?), America needs a leader. Someone who carries a big stick. Someone who will tell the Russians to “tear down this wall!” Now is not the time for appeasement. It’s time for America to stay strong. Let’s be clear, the Russians, Chinese, North Koreans and Iranians are watching. Will America defend the flag and the Liberty Bell or will we blink? No, we don’t need to go to war, neither should we, but we have to draw a line in the sand. We need someone who will make America great again! Who will fill their shoes?
