Janie L. Drury | Obituary


Wife, mother, sister and friend, Janie Lee Drury, 68, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021.

She entered this life on August 18, 1953 in Gerrardstown, WV, as the daughter of the late Wilbert Cletus Pete Faircloth and Virginia Ellen Baumgardener Faircloth.

Janie had an infectious zest for life and was known for her love of family. In fact, he was called the “anchor” of his extended families. One of his favorite things to do was spending time with them at meetings, picnics, and other gatherings.

Janie was recently baptized and has become an active member of New Life Community Church in Inwood, WV.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 35 years, Merle Drury. She also leaves behind an incredible legacy of three daughters and one son: Norie Noll and her husband, Richard DeHaven; Jean Gano and his partner, Brian Basore; DJ Gano and his wife Lisa Gano; and Lacy Drury and his partner, Daniel Schildt; nine grandchildren: Blaine Noll, Mitchell Basore, Brady Noll, Remington Drury Young, Olivia Gano, Jayden Milburn, Kai Tam, Madelyn Gano and Westley Gano; and two great-grandchildren: Madison Noll and Rhett Noll. Janie is survived by two sisters and a brother: Frances Barker, Carolyn Adams and Lonnie Faircloth.

Three brothers and two sisters preceded Janie in death. He missed them sorely every day.

His family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood, WV.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at the same location with Pastor Jim Goforth as officiant.

Interment will be held at Gerrardstown Presbyterian with a celebration of his life at the New Life Community Church on Tabler Station Road thereafter.
