Linda Mason | Obituaries |

Linda Mason Linda L. “Lindy” Creamer Mason, 78, died peacefully on July 7, 2022 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Linda was born and raised in Shenandoah Junction. She grew up on her family’s farm; she loved all animals and especially loved when babies were born. In 1960, she graduated from Shepherdstown High School. After graduating, she worked at the Pentagon for a time on projects that she kept private all her life.

In 1962 she married Edgar Mason and moved to Inwood where she lived until her death. Linda was a stay-at-home mom for many years after the birth of her children. In 1977 she re-entered the workforce and in 1980 she began her career at PanTran where she rose through the ranks from secretary to manager. She retired from PanTran after twenty-five years of service, but Linda’s greatest job and joy in life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love for them could not be expressed in simple words.

Linda was a member of Inwood United Methodist Church where over the years she worked on several committees, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She also enjoyed decorating the church for Christmas and visiting churches. Linda loved her community and was always there for her neighbors and friends.

She is survived by her three daughters, Lu Rae Baird and her husband, David, Wendy Kief and her husband, Todd and Anne Barrett; five grandchildren, Bergan Miller and her husband, Matthew, Kaitlyn May and her husband, Kenny, Dillon Holbrook and his wife, Megan; Samantha Barrett and Hallie Kief; great-grandchildren, Cecilia May, Brynn Miller, Brooks Miller and Aaronson Holbrook; two sisters, Eleanor Rickard and Penny Ahalt; several nieces and nephews whom she loved as her children.

She was predeceased by her husband of sixty years, Edgar J. Mason; son, Barry Lynn; sisters, Bertha Braithwaite and Sylvia Creamer; brother, Steve; brothers-in-law, David Rickard, Ronnie Ahalt and Rob Braithwaite; parents, Harry and Annie Creamer.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the chapel.
