Reverend Ronald A. Kreiensieck Reverend Ronald Arthur Kreiensieck passed away surrounded by his family on March 12, 2022 in Winchester, Virginia.

Reverend Ronald A. Kreiensieck (Cry-in-sick) was born in Sacramento, California on August 29, 1946, to Mary E. (Jordan) Kreiensieck and Arthur J. Kreiensieck. He graduated from Sacramento State College with a Bachelor of Arts in 1968 and from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in 1972. Reverend Kreiensieck was ordained to the ministry of the Lutheran Church in America, now known as of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) on June 11, 1972.

Rev. Kreiensieck served churches in Nevada and California beginning in 1972. After ten years of parish ministry, he was called by the ELCA to serve as a military chaplain in the United States Navy. While in the United States Navy, Pastor Kreiensieck won the Meritorious Service Award from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and numerous military awards. He retired after fifteen years of active service with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

After retiring from the United States Navy, he continued to serve in churches in California and Utah from 1997 to 2012. He continued his service as an intentional acting pastor for St. John’s Lutheran Church in Martinsburg, WV from 2014 to 2016, as acting pastor for Salem Lutheran Church in Boonsboro (Bakersville) MD from 2016 to 2018, and as acting part-time. Pastor of Stony Man Lutheran Parish (Grace Lutheran and Beth Eden Lutheran) in Luray, VA.

Pastor Kreiensieck was married for 47 years to the late Christina M. (Rand) Kreiensieck of Mishawaka, Indiana until her death in February 2016. They have four children; Erik P. Kreiensieck married to Ana I. (Vaughan) Kreiensieck; Kimberly D. Kreiensieck Sewell, married to Rodney Sewell, Bret-Jordan Kreiensieck, married to Marissa (Missy) (Abinanti) Kreiensieck; and Elizabeth Joy (Libi) (Kreiensieck) Crane married to Adam Crane. He has four grandchildren: Amber Kreiensieck, Evan Kreiensieck and Amelia Kreiensieck (Erik, Ana) and Annastasia Sewell (Kimberly, Rod). Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service Friday at 3 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 26 W. Boscawen St, Winchester, VA 22601. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
