BERKELEY SPRINGS — A six-run first inning led the way for Martinsburg in an 11-3 baseball win over Berkeley Springs on Wednesday.

Kaleb Edwards doubled and had three hits in the lead for Martinsburg (8-1).

Hudson Clement, Isaiah Morris, Carson Boober and Jordan Canby each had two hits. Landon Sifford doubled and Clement stole four bases.

Morris, the second of three pitchers, picked up the win.

Nathan Guzick had four hits for Berkeley Springs.

Hedgesville 10, East Hardy 7

BAKER – Hedgesville tied the game in the seventh inning and won it in the 10th.

No other information was available.


Spring Mills 6, Hedgesville 1

SPRING MILLS — Kiran Cole, Edith Kao, Sarah Rader and Ellie Mollica won singles as Spring Mills moved up to 3-1.

In doubles, the Cole/Kao and Rader/Chelsea McIntosh teams win for the Cardinals.

Paige Elliot/Grace Gum won at No. 3 for Hedgesville.


Potts honored

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Senior Tyler Potts of the Shepherd men’s golf team has been named PSAC Male Golf Athlete of the Week.

Tyler Potts is tied for second and helped Shepherd win the Cardinal Classic this week. In the one-round tournament, he shot an even par (72) to tie for second place. Potts finished just one shot behind the leader.


West Chester 23, Shepherd 10

SHEPHERDSTOWN – Keri Barnett scored seven goals and Hannah Stanislawczyk added six to lead West Chester (6-1, 4-1 AFPC East) to eighth to a win over Shepherd University (3-5, 1-3 AFPC East) in PSAC East play Wednesday.

Katherine Campbell scored four goals and Maddison Young three to beat the Rams.

Sam Lassahn, Paige Stoner and Shanna Dextradeur each scored a goal. Katie Paredes had a pair of assists while Paige Alexander recorded a team-best seven draw checks.

Lindsay Monigle added three goals and three assists for the Golden Rams. Grace Frasso added 10 draw controls.

West Chester had an 11-4 advantage at halftime.
